September 2008
Six MPA staff and Gwil Neal from the BLA attended the Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards on Thursday 24 July at the Intercontinental Hotel, Park Lane.
The Award ceremony came on the back of some serious work which had gone into preparing the BLA's website to be judged by the five strong panel. Sandi Toksvig, who has appeared on several current affairs and comedy programmes, hosted the event.
The MPA applied for seven awards for which three of the entries were shortlisted and reached the final, they included; the Electronic Communications Award, the Environmental Initiative Award and the BLA's entry for the Best Website of the Year Award.
Despite losing out to the Recruitment and Employment Federation in the Best Website of the Year Award, the BLA remain overjoyed with the standing quality of the site and the fact that its monthly visitor numbers have increased by 100% since its initial launch in May. Both the MPA and BLA have agreed to come back in 2009 determined to win more awards to add to the already impressive collection.
